10TH ANNIVERSARY

Book:  10th Anniversary
Author:  James Patterson
Rating:  7

This is Patterson's 10th book in the Womens' Murder Club series.  It was good but seemed to drag a bit, or maybe it was me dragging.  Detective Lindsay Boxer gets married in this book to Joe, the love of her life who understands her and her job and puts up with her late night hours.  While Lindsay tries to find out why a young girl was found along side the road bleeding badly from childbirth when there is no baby, her friend and prosecutor Yuki tries to put a female doctor behind bars for murdering her husband.

CHASING FIRE

Title: Chasing Fire
Author: Nora Roberts
Rating: 9

This book is long but very well written, as is all of Nora Roberts' books. This book is about a group of people who are trained to put out forest fires. They live in a camp all summer and go wherever they are needed to put out fires. I found it very interesting reading, plus there was romance, and of course mystery. What else do you need for a good book? I highly recommend it.

SMOKIN' SEVENTEEN

Title: Smokin' Seventeen, a Stephanie Plum Novel
Author: Janet Evanovich
Rating: 9

I LOVE the Stephanie Plum novels! I usually read murder mysteries so these give me a break from the serious and sometimes dark stories to one that is light and makes me laugh. In this book, someone is burying bodies on the construction lot of the new bail bonds office and someone wants to kill Stephanie, not to mention, Joe Morelli's Grandma has put a hex on the poor girl. Lula of course tries to help and causes more havoc. You will enjoy this book if you like the Stephanie Plum novels. The good news is that Explosive Eighteen comes out on November 22nd!

FATAL ERROR

Title: Fatal Error
Author: J. A. Jance
Rating: 9

I usually only read J. A. Jance's books that have Joanna Brady as the main character. However, this book has a new main character, Ali Reynolds, and I really liked her and the story. Ali just finished classes at the Arizona Police Academy. The local P.D. had to cut expenses and couldn't afford to hire her as planned so she is minding her parents' restaurant while they take a much-deserved vacation. Suddenly, an old friend of Ali's (Brenda) shows up in town asking for Ali's help. Brenda said she has not heard from her fiance and thinks he's missing and asks for Ali's help. Thus begins an exciting story which I'm sure you will enjoy as much as I did.

TIC TOC

Title: Tic Toc
Author: James Patterson
Rating: 9

I really enjoyed this book. The main character is Michael Bennett, who has 10 adopted children. His wife is dead so he and his Priest/Father are raising the children with the help of a nanny from Ireland. Michael is a New York City detective and even though he and his family are on vacation at the beach an hour away from NYC, he gets a call that he has to return to work because someone has just attacked NYC by setting off a small bomb and they don't know if it is a terrorist attack or not. Many more crimes are committed before they finally capture the person responsible. As is the norm with Patterson's books, just when you think the story is over, there is another twist. Very good!

Detective Lt. Once they leave, she contacts her superior, Lt. Eve Dallas and this is where the exciting story begins with planning to take down the bad cops. It was an excellent read.

THE SEARCH

Title: The Search
Author: Nora Roberts
Rating: 10

Nora Roberts never disappoints me and this was one of those books that you hate to put down because it all leads up to the big finale. Fiona Bristow is the main character and years ago she was able to escape a serial killer. He was put in prison but wants revenge on Fiona for breaking his nose and causing him to be caught and convicted. Meanwhile, Fiona has moved to an island off the west coast of Washington, has 3 dogs and has a dog-training school. She also works in Search and Rescue and her dogs are trained for the same. You know that somehow the killer is going to come after her but you just don't know when. In the mean time, the dogs will keep you entertained and, of course, Fiona falls in love. I loved the book and hope you will too.
