Title: Treachery in Death
Author: J. D. Robb
Raing: 10
Detective Lt. Eve Dallas and her partner, Detective Peabody, are working on the senseless murder of an elderly grocery store owner when Detective Peabody overhears 2 dirty cops talking about "delivering a product" and the "houses they own in the islands" and she knows she can't let them know she heard them talking or she'll be dead. Once they leave, she contacts her superior, Lt. Eve Dallas and this is where the exciting story begins with planning to take down the bad cops. It was an excellent read.

THE SEARCH
Title: The Search
Author: Nora Roberts
Rating: 10
Nora Roberts never disappoints me and this was one of those books that you hate to put down because it all leads up to the big finale. Fiona Bristow is the main character and years ago she was able to escape a serial killer. He was put in prison but wants revenge on Fiona for breaking his nose and causing him to be caught and convicted. Meanwhile, Fiona has moved to an island off the west coast of Washington, has 3 dogs and has a dog-training school. She also works in Search and Rescue and her dogs are trained for the same. You know that somehow the killer is going to come after her but you just don't know when. In the mean time, the dogs will keep you entertained and, of course, Fiona falls in love. I loved the book and hope you will too.

STRATEGIC MOVES
Title: Strategic Moves Author: Stuart Woods Rating: 8 Stuart Woods' "Stone Barrington Novels" never disappoint me. In this book, Stone takes on an interesting client who claims to know where to find Osama Bin Laden. This man is genuine but a lot of people don't believe him and want to cause him harm. Of course the ever irritating Herbie Fisher is constantly on Stone's door step asking for legal advice or help. There were lots of surprises in this book and some exciting page turners.

INDULGENCE IN DEATH
Title: Indulgence in Death Author: J. D. Robb Rating: 9 Lt. Eve Dallas and her husband Roarke return from vacation in Ireland just in time for a series of murders for Eve to investigate. Each one is different, a service person killed with a unique weapon is the beginning of the clues for Eve. When she learns from Mira, the psychiatrist, that she is probably next to be killed, the whole department drops what they are doing and helps catch the killer(s). I love the "In Death" series of books and this one was no disappointment.

TELL NO ONE
Title: Tell No One
Author: Harlan Coben
Rating: 8
Just finished this book which I borrowed from my friend Gloria and really enjoyed it. The main character is Dr. David Beck who lost his wife 8 years ago and he relives the horror of how she left him every day. His friends want him to move on with his life but he still loves his wife, then a message appears on his computer, a phrase that only his wife would know. Could she still be alive?? You will have to read it to find out.

VENDETTA
Title: Vendetta
Author: Fern Michaels
Jan's Rating: 8
I just finished reading friend Karen's book "Vendetta" and really enjoyed it. Myra's pregnant daughter is killed by a hit-and-run driver from China who has diplomatic immunity, so he goes back to his country without having to pay the consequences for killing someone. Myra vows to get even with him, so with the help of her long-time companion, Charles, who has a lot of connections in other countries, and 7 of her best friends, they manage to bring the killer back to the United States for his "punishment". All I can say is........I would not want to cross these women!

THE 9
Title: The 9
Author: James Patterson
Jan's Rating: 9
This is James Patterson's 9th book in the Women's Murder Club series and it is very good. Lindsay Boxer has 2 crimes to solve. 1) Someone is breaking into wealthy homes while people are entertaining (because they don't set their burglar alarm when they have company) so the thief is able to sneak into the bedroom to the safe and escape with a lot of expensive jewelry; 2) Some nut case is killing off young Mothers and their children in public places. This one bothered me the most because of the children so I had to stick with it to make sure the guy was caught and punished for his heartless crimes. It was a well-written and easy-to-read book.
