Author: Julie Garwood
Rating: 10

Theo Buchanan is an attorney for the Justice Dept. He has an attack of appendicitis and Dr. Michelle Renard saves his life, which is the start of a wonderful love story. However, Michelle is in grave danger; someone is trying to kill her, and Theo is determined to find out who it is. I had trouble putting this book down. It kept me spellbound from beginning to end!

VANISHED

Author: Karen Robards
Jan's Rating: 9

I really enjoy Karen Robards' books. They are good mysteries with romance included, which are my favorites! In "Vanished", which takes place in Beaufort, Georgia, one of my favorite towns, Sarah Mason is an attorney fighting for justice for the underdog. Her daughter has been missing for 7 years, since she was 5 years old, and now someone is trying to kill Sarah and leaving phone messages from her missing daughter. P.I. Jake Hogan tries to help Sarah unravel the mystery of who is trying to kill her and of course as you can imagine, love works its way into their lives. This book has a very exciting ending.

SEE NO EVIL

Author: Allison Brennan
Jan's Rating: 8

This is the fourth book I've read by Allison Brennan and consider her a very good mystery writer, and she always includes some romance which we girls like. See No Evil is a story about a troubled teenager (Emily) who has been charged with the murder of her stepfather. Now, we all know she didn't do it, but he did deserve to die in the way that he died! What a monster he was! Emily's aunt is a high-powered attorney and she will go to any length to prove Emily is innocent, and if she has a love-interest along the way, so much the better. I enjoyed the book very much.

PLUM LUCKY

Author: Janet Evanovich
Rating: 8

If you have read the Stephanie Plum series, you know that Grandma Mazur is a very spunky Grandma, and in this book, she out-does herself. Grandma finds a bag of stolen money, buys an RV, and takes off for Atlantic City to try her luck. Of course when Stephanie's Mother finds that Grandma is missing, she sends Stephanie on a search to find her. Stephanie takes Lula and Connie with her, and you can pretty well guess that they will run into many problems before Grandma is found and brought back home. Everyone needs a Grandma Mazur in their family!

CREATION IN DEATH

Author: J. D. Robb
Rating: 10

Jan's Opinion: I am a big fan of Eve Dallas' character in J. D. Robb's "...In Death" series of books, and I certainly wasn't disappointed in this one! In fact, it is my favorite so far, if that's possible. A serial killer who slipped through Eve's fingers 9 years ago is back on the scene and he wants Eve for his final "prize". I figured he is pretty stupid if he thinks he can catch "kick-ass Eve" but I have to tell you, I was biting my nails until the very end!

DOUBLE CROSS

Author: James Patterson
Jan's Rating: 9

If you have been reading all of the "Alex Cross" books, you know who Kyle Craig is. Alex Cross is responsible for putting him in a maximum security prison 4 years ago after a series of brutal murders. Kyle has just escaped from the prison and is out to find Alex and get even. As if that isn't enough, there is another serial killer out to get Alex so he had better watch his back. When Alex isn't looking over his shoulder for these killers, he has a new love interest named Bree, and it sounds like she just might be a "keeper". The ending leaves you looking forward to his next book.

SLEEPING WITH FEAR

Author: Kay Hooper
Rating: 8

Riley Crane is a member of the FBI's Special Crimes Unit and is a clairvoyant, which is a talent that helps her solve crimes, until someone messes with her powers, tases her, and now she can't remember why she came to Opal Island, or that she has fallen in love with the local District Attorney, Ash Prescott. She knows her life is in danger but she doesn't give up searching for the answers she so desperately needs because she knows this person is a murderer. I enjoyed this book from beginning to end and think Kay Hooper is a great writer.
